GasRam™ for the SWAT Operator
Burst Disk Fike Valve

A "Fike" rupture disc (also known as a rupture disk or bursting disc), is designed to provide a leak-tight seal within a pipe or vessel, until the internal pressure rises to a predetermined level. At that point the rupture disc bursts preventing damage to the equipment from overpressure. Fike pressure relief devices are compliant with global code regulations and designed to meet or exceed industry requirements for performance, reliability, and quality.

The Fike rupture disc is engineered to rupture at 73psi, guagefar below the rupture pressure of the GasRam™ body. The Fike Disc and disc housing should be cleaned after each use of the GasRam™. Care should be taken when wiping down the actual disc contained in the stainless steel holder.

The Fike disc body is screwed into the GasRam™ body using teflon tape. The teflon tape helps seal the threads from agent leakage and makes it easier to remove the Fike body when doing maintenance. The new rupture disc is then placed in the body followed by the rounded side of the disc cover. The disc cap is then screwed into the disc body to secure the cap and cover into place. It should be screwed in hand tight and then another 1/8 to a 1/4 turn.
